It was another fantastic turnout in beautiful weather for this week’s ride from the Bell at Gumley.

Lovely to catch up with friends and some new riders were welcomed by all.

The food and hospitality from Carol and the team at the pub were excellent as always (I can vouch for the quality of the steak and the awesome Timothy Taylor’s beer – and what amazing value).

In future when we ride from the Bell Carol has asked if we could make a pre-order a few days before to assist them due to the large numbers all eating together. I suggest we do that in much the same way as we do for the evenings at Glooston Village Hall when we ask you all to make your food choice in the week leading up to the ride. Pete will update that on the email sent out prior to a return to Gumley.

And so to next week’s ride – the Queen’s head at Saddington. Ample parking in the rear car park. 6:30 pm depart and please order food before you leave if you’re eating.

The weather looking fantastic for the bank holiday weekend so I hope everyone enjoys the sun and fingers crossed it’ll still be with us on Wednesday.

I will be bringing sample sizes of cycling clothing next week. To date, we have orders for 4 Long Sleeve Jerseys (we need a minimum order of 5) and only 1 order for the Short Sleeve. So if you want to order any clothing please see me or order from the website.

Thanks to everyone who entered the McMillan ride last Saturday Nearly 200 riders started and finished at Grange Farm in Thorpe Langton after taking on four challenging routes. A barbecue, with a donation of beer from Langton Brewery, and live music topped off the day. Proceeds are still being chalked up, but the charity believes the total will be close to £6,000.

All the best,

Nick Timms.
